Privacy Policy for MySight

Effective Date: July 1, 2025

Your privacy is important. This Privacy Policy describes how MySight ("the app") collects, uses, and protects your information.

1. Information We Collect

• Anonymous Users: If you choose to use the app without creating an account ("Continue as Guest"), a unique anonymous identifier is generated and stored. No personally identifiable information is collected for anonymous users.
• Email Address: Required when you create an account or upgrade from anonymous to registered user via email/password authentication. When using Sign in with Apple, you may choose to provide your real email or use Apple's private relay email service.
• Apple ID Information: When using Sign in with Apple, we receive a unique user identifier from Apple. Your Apple ID credentials are never shared with us.
• User-Provided Data: You may input financial information such as account nicknames, income, expenses, and other budgeting data. This information is stored securely in Firebase Firestore.

The app does not connect to any external financial institutions, and no bank account numbers, login credentials, or other linked financial data are ever collected.

2. Authentication

You can use the app in the following ways:

• Anonymous/Guest Mode: Use the app without creating an account. A unique anonymous identifier is generated, but no personal information is collected.
• Email and Password: Create a registered account with your email address.
• Sign in with Apple (iOS only): Use your Apple ID to authenticate.

You can start as an anonymous user and later upgrade to a registered account by linking your anonymous account with email/password or Apple ID. Your data will be preserved during this upgrade.

Authentication is handled by Firebase Authentication, a secure service provided by Google.

When using Sign in with Apple, you may choose to share your email with the app or hide it. If you hide your email, Apple generates a unique, anonymous email address specifically for this app. This private relay email address forwards communications to your real email while keeping it private.

3. Third-Party Services

MySight uses the following services to power core features:

• Firebase Authentication - to manage user sign-in
• Cloud Firestore - to store user-entered budgeting data
• Sign in with Apple (iOS only) - to provide secure authentication using your Apple ID

No other third-party services (e.g., analytics, payment processors, ad networks) are currently used.

4. Personally Identifiable Information

The personally identifiable information collected depends on how you use the app:

• Anonymous/Guest Users: Only a unique anonymous identifier is collected. No personally identifiable information is collected.
• Registered Users: Email address (may be a real email or Apple private relay email) and, when using Sign in with Apple, an Apple user identifier.

No other personal data (e.g., name, address, phone number) is collected.

5. Data Sharing & Usage

• Your data is never sold, rented, or shared with third parties.
• The developer has administrative access to data stored in Firebase, but does not use or view this data unless necessary to resolve technical issues.
• No marketing, profiling, or advertising use is made of your data.
• The app does not currently use analytics. If anonymous, event-based analytics are added in the future, they will exclude personal or financial data.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

• Your data is stored securely and is tied to your authenticated account.
• You may delete your account and all associated data at any time via the "Delete Account" option in the app's settings.
• Account deletion is permanent and irreversible. It includes deletion of:
  • All financial and budgeting data
  • Your authentication profile
• No data is retained after deletion, and inactive accounts are not automatically deleted.

7. Children's Privacy

MySight is intended for users 13 years of age or older.
The app is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.
If such data is discovered, it will be deleted immediately.
